A group of 10 Ukrainian surgeons has arrived in Oklahoma to take part in Operation Ukraine, a month-long educational program designed to share advanced medical techniques. The initiative aims to equip the visiting physicians with new skills they can carry back to hospitals and military treatment centers across Ukraine.
During their stay, the surgeons will observe and practice modern surgical methods alongside local medical teams. Organizers say the goal is practical: give the visitors tools and knowledge that will have an immediate effect on patient care in their home country, where medical facilities continue to face heavy demands.
The program combines hands-on training with classroom instruction, allowing the Ukrainian doctors to see how their American counterparts handle complex cases. Participants will rotate through different departments and work closely with experienced staff.
Those involved in hosting the group say the exchange benefits both sides. The visiting surgeons bring deep experience treating trauma and wartime injuries, while the local teams offer access to newer technology and procedures.
The month-long visit is part of a broader effort to support Ukraine's medical community. Organizers hope to expand the program and bring additional groups in the future.
