College Hosts Final Public Forum for Presidential Candidate

College Hosts Final Public Forum for Presidential Candidate

The community had a chance this week to meet the last of three finalists hoping to lead the institution. A public forum took place on the Mount Vernon campus, giving students, staff, faculty and local residents an opportunity to hear directly from the candidate before a final decision is made.

The session was part of a broader effort to gather input from the people who know the college best. Attendees listened as the candidate outlined priorities and answered questions on topics that matter to the campus and the surrounding area. Organizers said the forums are meant to keep the selection process open and to make sure the next leader reflects the needs of the community.

Each of the three finalists took part in a similar event in recent weeks, allowing people to compare their visions and leadership styles. Feedback collected at the forums will help inform the final choice.

College officials have not announced a timeline for the decision, but they said input from these sessions will carry real weight. The next president will inherit a range of challenges, from enrollment trends to workforce programs, and will be expected to build on the college's role as a regional resource. Community members who attended said they appreciated the chance to be involved and to see how each candidate handles questions in an open setting.
