MINOT, N.D. - Independent U.S. House candidate Charles Tuttle says North Dakota needs stronger schools, less government interference and a representative willing to challenge established political practices.
During a recent interview with Jonathan Starr, Tuttle discussed his campaign for Congress, concerns about education, the national debt, energy development and the expansion of data centers. Tuttle said he believes the federal government has grown too large and that decisions affecting local communities should be made closer to home.
He pointed to education as a central issue in his campaign, arguing that parents and state officials should have more say in how schools operate. Tuttle also raised concerns about the national debt, saying Congress has failed to control spending and that future generations will bear the cost.
On energy, Tuttle said North Dakota's resources should be developed without excessive federal regulation. He also addressed the growth of data centers, noting that the state must weigh the economic benefits against the strain on local infrastructure and power supplies.
Tuttle is running as an independent, positioning himself as an alternative to the major parties. He said his campaign is focused on accountability and on giving voters a choice beyond politics as usual.
