Bossier Parish Community College and Louisiana Tech University have established an Education Pathway Partnership Agreement designed to simplify the transfer process for students pursuing careers in teaching. The collaboration provides students with structured advising from the start of their community college studies through completion of a four-year degree.
Under the agreement, students enrolled in BPCC's education program will receive coordinated guidance from advisors at both institutions. This approach aims to eliminate confusion about which courses transfer and how they apply toward graduation requirements at Louisiana Tech. Students who follow the prescribed pathway can move from associate-level coursework directly into the university's education program without losing credits or repeating classes.
The partnership addresses a persistent challenge in higher education, where unclear transfer policies often discourage community college students from continuing their studies. By mapping out a clear route from BPCC to Louisiana Tech, both schools hope to increase the number of qualified teachers entering the workforce in north Louisiana.
Officials from both institutions described the agreement as a practical solution to workforce needs in the region. Students interested in the pathway can contact advisors at either school to learn about eligibility requirements and course sequencing. The agreement takes effect immediately and applies to students beginning their studies in the current academic term.
