The Montclair Foundation Awards $80,000 in Spring Grants to Support Education and Cultural Arts

The Montclair Foundation has announced the distribution of $80,000 in spring grants to support education and cultural arts programs across the township. The funding, awarded to local nonprofit organizations, aims to bolster initiatives that serve students, artists, and community members.

Grants were directed toward a mix of programs, including after-school tutoring, arts workshops, and museum outreach efforts. Several grants will fund new equipment for school music programs, while others will support theater productions and visual arts exhibitions open to the public.

Foundation officials noted that the selection process focused on projects with clear community impact and long-term sustainability. The grants range from a few thousand dollars to over $10,000, depending on the scope of the proposal.

One recipient plans to use the funds to expand a literacy program for elementary students, hiring additional tutors and purchasing books. Another organization will launch a series of free public art classes for teens, led by local professional artists.

The Montclair Foundation has a history of supporting local education and cultural work. This spring's round of grants continues that tradition, with an emphasis on reaching underserved neighborhoods. Applications for the next grant cycle are expected to open later this year.
