Gov. Pillen, Nebraska Department of Education Recognize 52 Students for Top ACT Scores

Governor Jim Pillen and the Nebraska Department of Education held a ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, June 17, in the State Capitol Rotunda to celebrate 52 graduates from the class of 2026 who achieved top scores on the ACT. The event recognized students from across the state who earned a perfect composite score of 36 on the college entrance exam.

During the ceremony, Governor Pillen praised the students for their hard work and dedication, calling the accomplishment a reflection of Nebraska's strong educational system. He noted that these students represent the best and brightest of the state's youth and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their future endeavors.

The Nebraska Department of Education highlighted that the ACT is a key measure of college readiness, and achieving a perfect score places these students in an elite group nationwide. The department also acknowledged the role of teachers, families, and communities in supporting the students' academic success.

Each student received a certificate of recognition and was personally congratulated by the governor and state education officials. The event underscored Nebraska's commitment to fostering academic achievement and preparing students for future challenges.
